  16. 16.The bottom line

The fastest electric scooter in the independent tests I read is the EMOVE RoadRunner RX7: ERideHero logged 67.4 mph on GPS with a 175 lb rider, with an IP67 rating and hydraulic brakes. The Kaabo King GTR (66 mph) and Inmotion RS (65.2 mph) are right behind it. If you want speed you can actually afford and carry, a step down is far more sensible: the VMAX VX2 Hub tested at 33.5 mph, and the Segway Ninebot Max G3 at 28 mph with dual hydraulic suspension.

Those are my picks for the fastest electric scooters 2027 top speed over 65 km/h buyers ask about. For reference, 65 km/h is about 40 mph, which is a different class from the 15 to 20 mph commuter scooters most people ride. Scooters in this guide range from fast commuters to dual-motor machines that weigh well over 100 lb, cost thousands, and can be hard to ride legally on public roads. The guide covers tested speed, acceleration, braking, range at speed, price tiers, laws and what the crash data says, because speed is the one spec where the trade-offs are about your safety.

I'll be straight about how this was built. I haven't ridden these scooters. My picks come from published tests by ERideHero, Electric Scooter Guide, RiderGuide and TechGearLab, and I say which source each number comes from. Several of these testers use GPS or bidirectional speed runs, which is why I trust their speeds more than maker claims. I'm writing in October 2026 and I'll update this page as 2027 models arrive.

Fastest electric scooters 2027 top speed over 65 km/h at a glance#

"Tested" means a reviewer measured it, and the source is named. "Claimed" is the maker's figure. 65 km/h is about 40 mph, so everything from the Wolf Warrior X upward in this table clears it.

How fast is fast: the speed classes#

Speed is the easiest spec to oversell, so it helps to split the market into classes. These are my groupings from the tested numbers, not an industry standard.

  • Under 20 mph: standard commuters. Most of the scooters in my budget guide live here.
  • 20 to 35 mph: fast commuters. The Segway Max G3 (28 mph) and VMAX VX2 Hub (33.5 mph) are examples. This is the highest speed class where most riders still have a chance of staying legal and carrying the scooter.
  • 35 to 50 mph: dual-motor performance. The Kaabo Wolf Warrior X (44.1 mph), G-Space Mars Eco (45.3 mph, single motor), Segway GT3 Pro (48 mph) and RiderGuide's "high-40s" group, which also includes the Apollo Phantom, Inmotion RS Jet and Hiley Tiger 10 V5.
  • 50 to 72 mph: hyper scooters. These all use dual motors, 72V or 84V systems and peak outputs above 8,000 W, per Electric Scooter Guide. This is the class that clears 65 km/h by a wide margin.

ERideHero's advice for the top class is blunt: scooters above 50 mph have much longer braking distances, potholes can throw a rider off line, full protective gear is required, and these are enthusiast machines for experienced riders on private roads.

How testers measure top speed and why numbers differ#

A top speed read off a display is not a test. The sources I trust do it differently:

  • ERideHero logs top speed by GPS with a VBox, not from the scooter's display. Standard conditions are a 175 lb rider, a full battery and a flat, dry road. It also notes that top speed drops as the battery drains, and several scooters lose a few mph once the pack is below roughly 50 to 80 percent.
  • Electric Scooter Guide says it uses pro-grade tools and bidirectional speed runs, averaging two runs each way to cancel wind and slight inclines, with rider weight, terrain and settings held constant.
  • RiderGuide reports "verified" speeds on its video-based rankings, but its July 2026 top-10 page gives a figure for only four of ten scooters.

The gap between claimed and tested speed can be large. ERideHero's own table shows the Nanrobot LS7+ 72V at 62.8 mph against a 74.5 mph claim, the Hooga Daytona at 63.8 against 70, and the Solar Hyperion RST at 64.3 against 70. On the other side, the Kaabo King GTR tested at 66 mph against a 65 claim. Electric Scooter Guide's list, last updated in August 2024, shows the EMOVE Roadster at 72.1 mph tested against an 80 mph claim, and the Dualtron Storm Limited at 59.9 against 55.

Even testers disagree. The Hooga Daytona is 63.8 mph on ERideHero's GPS runs, while RiderGuide calls it 65 mph "verified" and notes it ran out of road and likely had more left. Treat a speed from any single tester as a close estimate, not an exact number, and treat any claim above the tested range as marketing.

Best fast electric scooters: my picks#

EMOVE RoadRunner RX7: fastest tested, with IP67#

ERideHero's GPS-logged top speed was 67.4 mph against a 70 mph claim, with 53.7 miles of range from a 2,880 Wh battery at 139 lb. It lists 8,000 W peak power, Magura MT5e four-piston hydraulic brakes, PMT racing tires, adjustable KKE hydraulic suspension with a steering damper, a 400 lb rider limit and an IP67 rating, the highest water rating in this guide. Acceleration is 0 to 15 mph in 1.7 seconds and 0 to 30 mph in 3.68 seconds. ERideHero calls these the best stock brakes in its guide.

The trade-offs are weight and the learning curve. At 139 lb it stays where you park it, and it's the kind of scooter RiderGuide and ERideHero both tell beginners to avoid.

Kaabo King GTR: quickest acceleration#

ERideHero measured 66 mph, 48.2 miles from a 2,419 Wh battery and a 137 lb weight, with 13,440 W peak power. It posted the fastest acceleration in ERideHero's table: 0 to 15 mph in 1.5 seconds and 0 to 30 mph in 3.23 seconds. It rides on 12-inch CST self-healing tires with a double-arm hydraulic fork and an 18-level rear shock. Electric Scooter Guide's earlier list reports a 65.8 mph tested figure for the Wolf King GTR with the same 12-inch self-sealing tires.

This is the pick for riders who want maximum punch. It's also the most aggressive: ERideHero's own advice is that these are for experienced riders on private roads.

Check the current price

Inmotion RS: best water resistance and tuning among the 65 mph scooters#

ERideHero logged 65.2 mph against a 68.3 mph claim, at 128 lb with a 2,880 Wh battery and 8,400 W peak. It has dual sine-wave controllers, 11 damping stages, four deck heights, an adjustable steering damper and an IPX6 rating. ERideHero didn't publish a tested range for it, so check another test if range matters. Electric Scooter Guide's older list had it at 62.1 mph, which shows how testers and firmware versions differ.

Check the current price

Dualtron X Limited: longest range at speed#

ERideHero measured 63 mph and 85.2 miles from a 5,040 Wh battery, with 13,440 W peak, Nutt four-piston brakes with ABS, 13 by 5 inch tires and motorcycle coilover suspension. RiderGuide's longest-range list reports 86.4 miles. Electric Scooter Guide lists it at 183 lb and about $7,000, the only price in its list. It's the answer if you want 60-plus mph and an 85-mile range in one scooter and you can handle 183 lb.

Check the current price

Kaabo Wolf Warrior X: best entry to dual-motor speed#

RiderGuide measured 44.1 mph and 32 miles (against a 60-mile claim) from a 1,260 Wh, 60 V battery at 79.8 lb. It has dual motors, 10 by 3 inch pneumatic tires, a front hydraulic fork, a rear shock, an IPX5 rating and a 265 lb rider limit. RiderGuide lists it at $1,899 (its spec box says $2,395), and the page body is dated November 2024, so confirm the current price and version.

It's the lightest way into 40-plus mph in this guide, though at nearly 80 lb it's still not portable.

Check the current price

Segway GT3 Pro: dual motors from a big brand#

Electric Scooter Guide tested the GT3 Pro at 48 mph with 35.6 miles of range from a 72 V, 2,160 Wh battery, with dual 1,700 W motors, 11-inch self-sealing tires, full hydraulic suspension and a weight of nearly 120 lb. RiderGuide groups it in its "high-40s" class. It's a sensible pick if you want a major brand's support behind a fast scooter.

Check the current price

VMAX VX2 Hub: the fast commuter that's still carryable#

ERideHero measured 33.5 mph and 35.6 miles from an 874 Wh battery at 57.1 lb, with a 500 W nominal motor (1,900 W peak), tubeless tires, hydraulic front suspension with a rubber rear, an IPX6 rating and a 287 lb rider limit. It's the best answer when you want real speed without a 100 lb scooter. It's also fast enough that local limits may apply, so check yours.

Check the current price

Segway Ninebot Max G3: the fast scooter most riders can live with#

ERideHero measured 28 mph, 24.9 miles from a 597 Wh battery, 54.2 lb, an 850 W motor, 11-inch self-healing tubeless tires, dual mechanical disc brakes plus regen, adjustable dual hydraulic suspension, IPX6 and a 286 lb rider limit. TechGearLab ranked it first in its 2026 scooter test with a score of 81. It's the one I'd start with if "high performance" means comfort and power, not 60 mph.

Best dual motor electric scooters 2027#

A second motor changes how a scooter behaves. In the data above, the scooters over about 50 mph are dual-motor designs, and the dual-motor Apollo Go (700 W) reached 26.7 mph at only 46 lb. Here is what dual motors do and don't buy you.

  • More acceleration and hill power. Two motors share the load, which is why the King GTR gets to 30 mph in 3.23 seconds.
  • A higher top speed ceiling, though not always. The G-Space Mars Eco, a single 2,000 W motor, tested at 45.3 mph, so a single large motor can be fast, too.
  • Traction. Dual motors can drive both wheels, which helps on wet or loose surfaces, though that depends on the system.
  • A cost in weight, heat and range. Dual-motor scooters use more energy per mile (see the range section).
  • Controller quality matters. ERideHero's table lists dual sine-wave controllers on several scooters, which affects smoothness.

If you want one of the best dual motor electric scooters 2027 buyers can reach without going to 140 lb, the Wolf Warrior X and Segway GT3 Pro are the lighter options in this guide. For hills specifically, see my guide to off-road and hill-climbing scooters.

Best full suspension electric scooters 500W motor 2027#

Suspension and motor power are the two specs that separate a fast scooter from a merely quick one. A retailer roundup I read in my budget research suggests at least 500 W for hills, with 800 W peak ideal for steep climbs, and that is a sensible floor for a performance scooter. Here are the scooters in this guide with suspension at both ends:

ScooterMotorSuspensionTested speed
Segway Ninebot Max G3850 WDual hydraulic, adjustable28 mph
NAVEE ST3 Pro600 WDual24.8 mph
VMAX VX2 Hub500 W (1,900 W peak)Front hydraulic, rear rubber33.5 mph
Apollo Go700 W (dual motors)Front spring, rear rubber26.7 mph
Kaabo Wolf Warrior XDual motorsFront hydraulic, rear shock44.1 mph

These speeds come from ERideHero and RiderGuide. If you're searching for the best full suspension electric scooters 500W motor 2027 shortlists usually include, the Max G3 is the most balanced choice, while the Wolf Warrior X is the one to pick if you want more speed. Remember that "suspension" on a cheap scooter can be just a spring, and adjustable hydraulic suspension is a different thing. The Inmotion RS, for example, lists 11 damping stages and four deck heights.

High performance premium electric scooters 2027 price guide#

Price is where this category gets expensive fast. I haven't found a single current source with prices for everything, so this is a guide to tiers from the prices I could find, with the dates caveat. ERideHero's fastest-scooter page shows prices only as "track price," so I use RiderGuide and Electric Scooter Guide.

TierExamplePrice in sourceSource

Mid dual motorKaabo Wolf Warrior 11$2,999RiderGuide
Hyper scooterKaabo Wolf King GT$3,595 (box: $3,895)RiderGuide
FlagshipDualtron X LimitedAbout $7,000Electric Scooter Guide

RiderGuide's longest-range list also says all of its top ten scooters cost over $2,000. ERideHero notes the Nanrobot LS7+ 72V was in presale at "more than $1,000 below" its rivals, which is a reminder that new brands undercut established ones, with the support risk that implies.

Three things push the price up:

  1. Battery size. A 2,880 Wh pack is a big part of the cost.
  2. Brakes, suspension and controllers. Four-piston hydraulic brakes and adjustable suspension aren't cheap.
  3. Brand and support. Established brands charge more and honor warranties more reliably.

This high performance premium electric scooters 2027 price guide is only a starting point, because prices move by hundreds of dollars between sales. Check the maker's page, and budget for gear, a lock and a spare charger on top.

Acceleration and braking#

Acceleration is the other half of speed, and the tested numbers are dramatic. ERideHero's table shows 0 to 30 mph in 3.23 seconds for the King GTR, 3.38 for the King GTR Max, 3.44 for the Inmotion RS, 3.68 for the RX7 and 3.9 for the Nami Burn-E 4 Max. Electric Scooter Guide's older list gave 3.1 seconds for the EMOVE Roadster and 4.0 for the Dualtron X Limited.

Braking matters more than any of those. ERideHero notes that the Dualtron Thunder 3 stops from 15 mph in 8.4 feet, with four-piston brakes and cooled rotors, and calls the RX7's Magura brakes the best stock setup in its guide. At speed, stopping distance climbs fast, and ERideHero's own warning is that braking distances above 50 mph are much longer. If the brakes aren't hydraulic and four-piston on a scooter that does 40 mph or more, I'd skip it.

When your pads wear, see my guide on adjusting, fixing and replacing electric scooter brakes.

Range at speed#

Speed costs range. Using ERideHero's tested range and battery size for each scooter, I worked out the watt-hours used per mile. This is my own calculation from one tester's numbers, at ERideHero's normal cruising speed and not in eco mode.

ScooterBatteryTested rangeWatt-hours per mile (my math)
Kaabo King GT Pro2,520 Wh51.6 mi48.8
Kaabo King GTR2,419 Wh48.2 mi50.2
Kaabo King GTR Max2,880 Wh55.6 mi51.8
Dualtron Sonic Model A2,880 Wh54.7 mi52.7
EMOVE RoadRunner RX72,880 Wh53.7 mi53.6
Dualtron Thunder 32,880 Wh53.6 mi53.7
Nami Burn-E 4 Max2,880 Wh52.3 mi55.1
Teverun Fighter Supreme Ultra4,320 Wh74.2 mi58.2
Dualtron X Limited5,040 Wh85.2 mi59.2
Hooga Daytona2,880 Wh42.4 mi67.9

Hyper scooters use roughly 49 to 68 Wh per mile. That is two to three times what commuter scooters use, which is why a big battery on a fast scooter buys less range than the number suggests. In my long-range guide I used about 24 Wh per mile for commuters and about 40 for fast dual-motor scooters, and these numbers sit above that, because they come from the fastest class. For a rough plan, divide battery Wh by about 55 to estimate real range on a 60-plus mph scooter ridden at pace. The Wolf Warrior X, at 1,260 Wh and 32 tested miles, works out to about 39.

Charging is slow. ERideHero reports about 10 hours for the King GTR Max, 12 hours for the Teverun Fighter Supreme Ultra with no fast charge, over 10 hours for the Dualtron X Limited on one charge port, and more than a day on the Thunder 3's stock 1.4 A charger.

Weight, size and carrying#

These scooters are heavy. In ERideHero's table the fastest scooters weigh from 110 lb (Nami Burn-E 4 Max) to 182.6 lb (Dualtron X Limited), with the RX7 at 139 lb and the King GTR at 137 lb. Rider limits are generous, from 330 lb on the King GT Pro to 400 lb on the RX7 and Solar Hyperion RST. At those weights, there's no carrying up stairs and no putting one in a small car. Plan for ground-floor storage, a ramp and a van or truck.

If you want speed you can carry, the VMAX VX2 Hub (57.1 lb) and the Max G3 (54.2 lb) are the practical ends of this guide, and for something lighter, see the lightweight scooters in my other guides.

Safety, gear and what crash data says#

Speed raises the stakes in a simple way: the faster you go, the longer you take to stop and the harder you hit. The scooters in this guide that top 40 mph are not toys.

A CDC study of shared e-scooter injuries in Austin, Texas, reported by Route Fifty, covered September 5 to November 30, 2018. It counted 190 injured riders, of whom 48 percent had head injuries and about 15 percent showed evidence of a traumatic brain injury, and only one rider was wearing a helmet. About 37 percent of injured riders said excessive speed contributed. Those were shared scooters that reach about 15 mph, so the numbers say nothing directly about 60 mph machines, but they point the same way. See the Route Fifty report.

What I would do, as general advice and not medical or legal advice:

  • Wear a helmet every time. At the speeds in this guide, ERideHero says full protective gear isn't optional. I'd choose a full-face helmet plus gloves, armored jacket and pants, and boots.
  • Pick brakes before motors. Hydraulic four-piston brakes and a steering damper (listed on the RX7 and Inmotion RS) matter more than another 5 mph.
  • Learn on something slower. Both ERideHero and RiderGuide say beginners should start with a lower-speed scooter. See my beginner's guide.
  • Watch the road surface. ERideHero notes potholes can throw a rider off line at high speed.
  • Don't ride at night without strong lights, and keep the speed down on wet roads.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has also pushed manufacturers to certify batteries. Its December 2022 news release counted at least 208 micromobility fire or overheating incidents in 39 states between January 2021 and November 2022, with at least 19 deaths, 5 of them involving e-scooters, and named UL 2272. I couldn't verify certification for each scooter here, and the big battery packs on these scooters make it worth checking before you buy.

Laws and where you can ride#

This is where fast scooters cause the most surprises. ERideHero says most U.S. states cap scooter speeds on public roads at 15 to 30 mph. RiderGuide says scooters above roughly 35 mph may fall under moped or motor vehicle rules depending on where you live, which can mean registration, a license and insurance. At 65 km/h (about 40 mph) and above, most of the scooters in this guide are beyond what many places allow on public roads, so in practice they're often private-property machines.

I haven't summarized state or city laws because I couldn't find reliable official summaries, and they differ widely. Before you buy, check:

  • Your state's definition of an electric scooter and its speed or power cap
  • Whether a motor vehicle, moped or motorcycle classification applies above a certain speed
  • Registration, license, insurance and helmet rules
  • Where you can ride (roads, bike lanes, sidewalks, private land)

For the speed rules in more depth, see my guide on how fast electric scooters are allowed to go, and for the speed question in general, my explainer on how fast electric scooters go. For the very top end, see how fast the fastest electric scooter in the world goes. If you're comparing with electric bikes, the parallel guide is the fastest and most powerful electric bikes.

Water resistance and weather#

Fast scooters vary a lot here. Per ERideHero, the RX7 and Solar Hyperion RST are rated IP67, the Inmotion RS IPX6, the King GTR Max IPX5, and the Nami Burn-E 4 Max is IP55 in the text but "unknown" on its spec card. The Max G3 and VX2 Hub are IPX6. Many others, including the Hooga Daytona and Dualtron X Limited, have no rating listed on the pages I read.

A rating describes a lab test, not a promise, and water damage is often excluded from warranties. At speed, wet roads also stretch your braking distance. See my guide to riding an electric scooter in the rain.

New and upcoming models#

This category turns over fast. ERideHero's 2026 list already includes scooters that didn't exist two years ago, such as the King GTR Max and Nami Burn-E 4 Max, and the Nanrobot LS7+ 72V was in presale. If you're deciding between buying now and waiting, my page on new electric scooters tracks launches. I'll update this guide with tested 2027 models as soon as independent speed numbers exist.

The bottom line#

If you want one answer, buy the Segway Ninebot Max G3 if you want a fast, comfortable scooter you can live with, the VMAX VX2 Hub if you want 33 mph at under 60 lb, the Kaabo Wolf Warrior X or Segway GT3 Pro for dual-motor speed at a lower weight, or the EMOVE RoadRunner RX7 if you truly want the fastest tested scooter and have a private place to ride it. Pick brakes and suspension before motor power, wear full gear, and check your local speed rules before you spend a cent.

Prices and models change, so check the current price and specs on the maker's page before you buy. Since I haven't ridden these scooters, treat my picks as a well-sourced shortlist and read a hands-on review of the one you choose. For the full range of scooters, see the best electric scooters.
