New Electric Bikes 2027: Launches and Models

The biggest new electric bike 2027 news so far is on the parts side. Bosch announced its first hub motor in June 2026 as part of its 2027 model year, and Cube's 2027 range, launched August 12, 2026, already includes a bike built around it. In the US, the launch most shoppers will meet is the Lectric XPress2 at $1,399 (launched May 19, 2026), and Velotric spent 2026 refreshing its whole lineup. Most of the rest is announced rather than on sale, and I say which is which.

That split matters for any new electric bike 2027 shopper. A launch article tells you what a maker says. It rarely tells you how the bike rides, how far it really goes or whether it holds up. I haven't ridden any of these bikes, so everything here is a maker claim, a trade-show announcement or a published test, and I label each one. Where a bike has already been tested by an independent site, I give the result.

My sources are the makers' own announcements as reported by Electrek, electrive, Cube's 2027 press release, Eurobike's 2026 press handout, Velotric's site, and the testers I use in my best electric bikes guide. I checked them on October 9, 2026.

New electric bike 2027 at a glance#

Every electric bike 2027 model in this table is either on sale, announced or only shown, and "status" is my reading of the source, not a confirmation from the maker. Prices are as reported and in US dollars unless stated.

New electric bike releases 2027: US launches#

Lectric XPress2: the budget launch of 2026#

Lectric's XPress2 is the most concrete US launch I found. Electrek reported it as officially launched on May 19, 2026, at $1,399, in two versions: a high-step Commuter and a step-through Cruiser. Everything below is Lectric's claim, relayed by Electrek, and none of it is independently tested yet.

• Motor: Stealth M24 rear hub, 750 W nominal, 1,310 W peak, 85 Nm.
• Battery: removable 48V 14Ah, 672 Wh, with a claimed range of up to 60 miles.
• Speed and class: adjustable between classes 1, 2 and 3, up to 28 mph.
• Weight: 63 lb, or 55 lb without the battery.
• Ride parts: torque-sensing assist with a cadence option, 180 mm hydraulic brakes, an 80 mm suspension fork, a Shimano Altus 8-speed and a 3.5 inch color display.
• Certification: Lectric says the battery is UL 2271 and the bike UL 2849.

Lectric also says the motor is "99% quieter" than before, which I can't verify. The article doesn't give ship dates or the original XPress's specs, so I can't tell you how big the upgrade is. I'd wait for an independent range test before treating 60 miles as real, since the 60-mile figure is a claim and the testers I trust usually land well under or well over claims depending on assist level. Velotric's 2026 lineup: new models, conflicting prices#

Velotric refreshed its range in 2026. Its own site lists five models, and Ride Review's collection explainer gives the specs. Here they are side by side with what independent testers measured where I have it:

Two flags. First, the prices disagree: Ride Review lists the Discover 3 at $1,099, the Summit 2 at $2,099 and the GoMad at nearly $2,300, while Velotric's own page showed $1,999 for the Discover 3 and GoMad and $1,999 for the Summit 2 (marked down from $2,099) when I checked on October 9, 2026. Velotric's news page also advertises a Fall Prime Day sale of up to $550 off select bikes. So check the live price. Second, for the three models with an independent test, the tested Eco range beat the maker's claim, but the Discover M and Summit 2 are only claims. Segway Myon and Muxi: announced at CES, one now tested#

Segway's January 6, 2026 CES release named two e-bikes, the Myon for commuting and leisure with adaptive electronic shifting, and the Muxi, a "versatile lifestyle" bike with traction control, regenerative braking and a smart control panel. It said both were "coming to the North American market this year" and gave no specs or prices. The Myon has since been tested: OutdoorGearLab (updated July 9, 2026) lists it at $1,999, with a 722 Wh battery, a measured 73.1 lb, a 36.1 mile range in its throttle-only test, a score of 84 and the label best for steep hills. I found no price, spec or independent test for the Muxi, so treat it as announced only.

Things sold as e-bikes that may not be#

Electrek's May 2026 coverage included a Heybike Saturn at $999 with a 40 mph headline claim (Electrek's headline calls it an electric moped), a Juiced electric dirt bike and a Yozma IN10 Pro. I didn't verify any of those specs. The point is the class: Wikipedia's summary of e-bike laws says a federal low-speed electric bicycle has working pedals, a motor under 750 W and a motor-only top speed under 20 mph. A bike that goes 40 mph on its motor is outside that, so local rules on where you can ride it may be very different. See my guide to e-bike classes.

Electric bike new launch 2027: Europe and the model-year shows#

The European trade calendar is where most 2027 models are revealed first. A caution: many of these bikes may never be sold in the US, and almost none have prices in the releases I read.

Cube's 2027 range (launched August 12, 2026)#

Cube's 2027 press release gives August 12, 2026 as the launch date for its new bikes and accessories. The e-bikes named are:

• Editor Hybrid 360 FE (new): a Bosch hub-drive commuter with a 360 Wh battery, which makes it one of the first bikes built around Bosch's new motor.
• Nuride Hybrid ONE11 (new): a fully equipped tourer with a Bosch CX motor, an 800 Wh battery and 100 mm of suspension front and rear.
• Fold Hybrid (updated): a redesigned fold mechanism, a more ergonomic carry handle and quicker handlebar and saddle adjustment.
• Stereo Hybrid ONE44 (updated): a trail bike with a full component makeover and extra models.

The release gives no prices and no individual ship dates, and the marketing lines ("almost effortless city riding") are Cube's.

Riese & Müller Veya and Multicharger4#

At its Campus Days event on June 24 to 26, 2026, Riese & Müller presented its 2027 catalog, according to Interempresas (July 7, 2026). The new bike is the Veya, a light e-bike with low-step or diamond frames, a base model under 20 kg, Bosch Performance Line SX, PX, CX or Speed motors and a standard RX Chip with GPS and an alarm. The Multicharger4 gets a redesigned frame and newer Bosch motors. No prices or dates were given, and the maker skipped Eurobike that year.

Aventon in Germany#

Aventon opened sales in Germany on March 9, 2026, per a Pedelec-Elektro-Fahrrad report of its press release. The launch models are an E-City and an E-Trekking bike designed for the European market, sold first through its own webshop with a planned network of service partners and test-ride stations. No prices or model names were given. It tells you where the brand is going, not what to buy here.

Eurobike 2026 (June 24 to 27, Frankfurt)#

Eurobike's press handout lists announcements, not products on sale. The e-bike items were:

• Vello Bike: billed as the first electric folding bike with the Bosch Hub Line motor.
• Mahle X Series: ultra-light drive systems, with a demo road e-bike at 9.83 kg (21.7 lb).
• Avinox: a new high-efficiency drive, unnamed and with no figures.
• Raymon: a fully redesigned range with new frame geometries.
• Dynamic Drives Giessen: a "heavy duty" cargo e-bike built for payload.

The handout names no new batteries, gives no figures for any of them and describes none as on sale.

Bosch for the 2027 electric bike models: hub motor, batteries, software#

Bosch is a major supplier of e-bike motors, and several bikes in this guide use its parts, so its announcements shape many 2027 electric bike models. The news was reported between June 20 and 26, 2026, from an event in Hamburg, and the retailer E-Bikeshop wrote it up on June 25.

What this means in practice:

• A new electric bike 2027 with a Hub Line motor will be a light city bike. A 45 Nm hub is not a hill climber: the picks in my best electric bikes guide run from 55 Nm (Lectric XP4) to 100 Nm (Aventon Level 4 ADV).
• The 360 Wh battery is small. Compare the Velotric Tempo, which has 374 Wh and was tested at 71 miles in Eco. Bosch's "over 50 miles" is a claim, and the Tempo shows what a small battery can do when you pedal.
• Retailer-reported specs are not Bosch's. The 400 W peak, the charger timing and "free" software come from a UK shop's blog, so I would check them against Bosch before relying on them.

No date or price for bikes using the Hub Line was given by Bosch, and no US availability. A reader asked electrive whether the PowerTube 360 would be sold worldwide and the article doesn't say.

Upcoming electric bike 2027: announced, not confirmed#

If you are waiting for an upcoming electric bike 2027 buyers might want, or for the next 2027 electric bike launch, this is the honest list. Each item has been announced, but none has a sale date I could verify:

• Bikes with the Bosch Hub Line motor. A 2027 new electric bike with this motor is the headline: Cube's Editor Hybrid 360 FE and Vello Bike's folder are named. No prices.
• Segway Muxi. Promised for North America in 2026 at CES. No specs, price or test found.
• Riese & Müller Veya. A sub-20 kg bike shown in June 2026. No price or date.
• Mahle X Series and Avinox drives. Component news, with no bike you can buy.
• Bosch's 12A charger. Early 2027, according to a retailer.
• Lectric XPress2 independent tests. The bike is out, but I found no test yet.

I'd treat a launch date as meaningful only when the maker gives one (Cube's August 12, 2026 is the clear example) and a price as meaningful only when it is on a store page. Everything else is a plan.

Electric bike new model 2027: how to judge a launch#

A new electric bike 2027 model is not automatically better than last year's. Here is the checklist I use, built from what these launches did and did not tell me.

1. Is it on sale? For any electric bike new model 2027 shoppers see, look for a date. Cube gave one. Segway's Muxi and Bosch's Hub Line bikes did not.
2. Is the number tested or claimed? Lectric's 60 mile range, Velotric's 95 miles for the Discover M and Bosch's "over 50 miles" are claims. Velotric's own Discover 3 claim was 80 miles and Electric Bike Review tested 87 in Eco and 38 in Turbo, so a claim can be low or high depending on assist level.
3. What is the class and the law? Lectric says the XPress2 can be set to class 1, 2 or 3 up to 28 mph. Many places treat class 3 differently, so read my e-bike laws guide before you unlock it.
4. Is the battery certified? Lectric says the XPress2 battery is UL 2271 and the bike UL 2849. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission counted at least 208 micromobility fire or overheating incidents in 39 states between January 2021 and November 2022, with at least 19 deaths, in a December 2022 CPSC news release, and asked manufacturers to certify to UL standards. I couldn't verify certification for the other bikes here.
5. Does an independent site test it? Of the bikes here, the Myon, Discover 3, Tempo and GoMad have tests. The XPress2, Discover M, Summit 2 and every 2027 European bike don't, as far as I found.
6. What is the price today? Velotric's prices differ between sources, and sales are running now.

If a bike fails the first two checks, wait. If it passes, compare it to the established picks in my best electric bikes guide.

Prices, sales and when to buy a new electric bike#

I can't tell you whether a 2027 model will be cheaper or better than a 2026 one, because the launches here don't give prices for most of the 2027 bikes. What I can see is that October 2026 is a sale month. Velotric's news page advertises a Fall Prime Day sale of up to $550 off select bikes, a free upgraded battery worth $550 with the Nomad 2, and the Discover 2 at $1,499 ($500 off). A 9to5Toys post on October 5, 2026 lists a Lectric XPeak2 off-road bundle sale, but its headline ($1,299) and its card ($799 starting price, $694 off) conflict, so check the store page.

The practical advice:

• If you need a bike now, a current-model bike with independent tests (the Level 4 REC, Discover 3 or Myon in my best electric bikes guide) is a safer bet than an untested launch.
• If you can wait, a 2027 new electric bike with the Bosch Hub Line is a reason to wait only if you want a light city bike and live where it is sold.

What I could not confirm#

A few gaps you should know about:

• No hands-on testing. I haven't ridden any of these bikes.
• Prices for 2027 European bikes. None of the releases I read gave them.
• US availability. Cube, Riese & Müller and Bosch-hub bikes may not be sold in the US.
• Launch dates. Only Cube (August 12, 2026), Lectric (May 19, 2026) and Aventon Germany (March 9, 2026) gave one.
• Newer news. My Electrek search found no new e-bike launch stories from August to October 2026, only deal posts on the page I checked, so a launch from the last few weeks may be missing.
• Heart-rate features. One headline mentioned heart-rate-aware tech for Velotric's spring 2026 bikes, but the article I read didn't, so I left it out.
